The State of PA has mandated that all Municipalities in the Commonwealth must adopt a Statewide Building Code. The STATE LAW became effective on April 9, 2003. The State is mandating/initiating regulations that will provide safe, consistent construction standards in PA. Permits will be required for all of the following disciplines: 1. Building 2. Plumbing 3. Electrical 4. Heating & Air Conditioning Although the new State Law is called the Uniform Construction Code with the exception of administrative changes it is basically the 2003 International Building Code. All one and two family dwellings will be regulated by the International Residential Code. Please be advised that there are certain exemptions. When in doubt, please contact the Borough Building Official, Thomas Lowry - 610-692-9232. Building permits may be picked up at the Borough Office.
